![]() ![]() It's way less deep, and way less interesting to me, to play this. The comparison I like to use, is that Old ARAM was a teamfight simulator, Current ARAM is a Jungle Skirmish simulator. It's not interesting, it doesn't push the same buttons. When I think about ARAM, I'm thinking about 5 people playing together to win teamfights, using combos in their team to take the advantage, people playing tanks taking responsibility and pushing back the opposing poke players so that Bruisers and AP Carries can get some space to do what they want. This results in a very large difference compared to the previous ARAM, which explains why games tend to always finish at 20 minutes now, instead of going on for some time. Now, with the Hexgates + Death Timer increase, the games tend to finish around 18-19 minutes because there are many scenarios where the Death Timer increase + Hexgate time save add together. It wasn't the same principle, but it fulfilled the same role, you'd have some medium-impact early game, and low-impact lategame where it was easy to keep going back and forth, having dozens of teamfights until at some point around 20-25 minutes, one team took the edge and won the game. Now they have what has been termed the w key meta which is just roaming death squads that maximize kills and now the BR players hate it and have stopped playing. ![]() Well the deathmatch players hated it and stopped playing so Respawn changed it. To give an example of this apparently they had a ranked system that rewarded final placement above all else so every match became 40 people hanging out in a bunch of buildings until the circle closed and it became chaos. On the the other you have the people who like the BR element of the game and hate when a match gets bogged down by half the lobby playing death match. On one hand you have the people who like it because the movement and gun play makes for a super fun combat game. Admittedly league has more than two types but I've recently got back into apex and holy hell is that community in an active cold war with itself. ![]() Interesting that you bring this up because its definitely not just league that had this phenomenon. ![]()
